King's Cattail

According to The Botanical World of Moldosu's Realm, written by the famed botanist and cartographer Tsulic Gartiovus, Typha regis "King's Cattail" is strangely prevalent in most of Moldosu's Realm. Found along all sorts of bodies of water, including bucktooth ponds, and some of the larger ponds, they are roughly twenty-one feet (7 m) high at maturity, leaves light green, basal, fleshly, lanceolate, and large, largest of all cattail leaves, roughly twelve feet (4 m) long and ten inches (25 cm) wide. Each shoot produces roughly 5-7 such leaves.  The plant has a large central stalk, topped off by a long brown flowering head. The plant also has a long rhizome, usually grows about as long as the plant is tall, 21 ft or 7 m, and about a foot (35 cm) in diameter. The rhizome is not only edible but quite tasty, especially when pan-fried in olive oil with some aquatic herbs. The leaves are used in making rope, paper, chairs, mats, thatching, etc. The magical properties of the plant are limited, being used mostly in some water-breathing potions, as well as occasionally in some protective hexes, in both cases the flower is used. If you have any questions regarding King's Cattail, do comment below.

Louis Beidleman

Now, unfortunately, I do not know the language Cyranime originally wrote her memoirs in. So, I had to ask my former professor and now my colleague to help produce this podcast, Dr. Louis Beidleman. Dr. Beidleman will be ashamed if I praise him so openly on the internet, but I still will. A classicist and the first ekhtherist, he is still and probably will be the leading expert in ekhtherics. What hasn't he done? He was the first to translate Cyranime's memoirs into English, the first to translate the constitution of Annomen, not to mention he was the person who decoded Ekhtherian A, B, and C. Miami University is lucky to have him as a member of their Classics Department. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be able to produce this podcast, much less actually understand Cyranime's words. Thanks, Dr. Beidleman!
Sincerely,
Stephen Sitwell

Hello All!

My name is Stephen Sitwell, the narrator of the popular podcast Adventures in Another World. In this podcast, I read from the memoirs of Cyranime, former senator of the great state of Annomen, concerning her exploits in a myriad of dangerous and difficult situations. In this blog, I will provide more background information on Cyranime and her world, hoping to shine some light on this truly interesting part of the multiverse.

Sincerely,
Stephen Sitwell
